UMPIRE
JOB 1:6, "Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves
before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. 7 And the Lord said to Satan, "From
where do you come?" Then Satan answered the Lord and said, "From roaming about
on the earth and walking around on it." 8 And the Lord said to Satan, "Have you
considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and
upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil." 9 Then Satan answered the Lord,
"Does Job fear God for nothing? 10 "Hast Thou not made a hedge about him and his
house and all that he has, on every side? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his
possessions have increased in the land. 11 "But put forth Thy hand now and touch all
that he has; he will surely curse Thee to Thy face." 12 Then the Lord said to Satan,
"Behold, all that he has is in your power, only do not put forth your hand on
him." So Satan departed from the presence of the Lord."
JOB 9:32-34, "For He is not a man as I am that I may answer Him, That we may go
to court together. There is no umpire between us, Who may lay his hand upon us both. Let
Him remove His rod from me, And let not dread of Him terrify me."
1 SAM 2:25, "If one man sins against another, God will mediate for him; but if a
man sins against the Lord, who can intercede for him?" But they would not listen to
the voice of their father, for the Lord desired to put them to death."
IS 1:18-20, "Come now, and let us reason together," Says the Lord,
"Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red
like crimson, They will be like wool. If you consent and obey, You will eat the best of
the land; But if you refuse and rebel, You will be devoured by the sword." Truly, the
mouth of the Lord has spoken."
1 TIM 2:5-6, "For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men,
the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony borne at the
proper time."
HEB 4:14-16, "Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the
heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high
priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all
things as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the
throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help in time of
need."
LUK 22:31-34, "Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you
like wheat; but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once
you have turned again, strengthen your brothers." And he said to Him, "Lord,
with You I am ready to go both to prison and to death!" And He said, "I say to
you, Peter, the cock will not crow today until you have denied three times that you know
Me."
ROM 8:26-28, "And in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do
not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings
too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is,
because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that God
causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called
according to His purpose."
