During his high school days, my father, Kenneth Howard, was an art editor for the PLUTOCRAFT. His drawings were on a few covers as shown here and he had a cartoon strip called "BILLY." These drawings were made on mimeograph stencils, which is one of the hardest media to draw on.

Kenneth married Emma Irene Simmons. My father entered the army on July 2, 1943. His love for Mother is shown by the poems he wrote during training. (They are shown on page one.) Following is a sketch he made of Mother and me. He died about a month after I was born and never saw me in person. This drawing shows he saw me in his heart.
