Family Life
Families are important! We have all seen what difficulties the weakening family structure has wrought. We seek to strengthen and enrich family life.
Adults and children find that our Intergenerational Worship experiences allow families to worship together in a way that encourages the participation and enjoyment of all.
The needs of children are provided for through specialized programs and quality child care at all church activities.
Children are important. Not only are they our future, children are our present. The disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven?" And calling to him a child, Jesus put him in the midst of them..."(Mat 18:1-2)
Children belong in our Worship Service. The children's lesson is provided so that they can begin to learn about God. It is also a time when we attempt to tap the child within us to understand the virtue of a child-like truth. The youngest children then leave for Children's Worship, and others remain to participate in the rest of the Service.
You will find our Nursery is clean, well furnished, and staffed by adult volunteers to see to your child's well-being.
In Sunday School the Bible stories are taught so that children may begin to understand the truths of Scripture and practice them.
We encourage them to be together as children of God, to learn to talk to Him in prayer, to hear His Word, and to praise Him.
During the weeks before Christmas and Easter, special children's programs focus on the spiritual reason for holidays.
Sunday School Classes are self-selecting and serve a variety of ages and interests from the young in faith to the Biblical scholar.
American Baptist Women's Ministry provide monthly opportunities for fellowship, worship, service, mission and spiritual growth.
We believe that God has called us to minister to the whole person - body, mind and spirit.
Through the American Baptist Churches, USA, we are sharing the Good News of Christ to persons in America and in 20 other nations, helping to promote community development, health care, and education.
Every person and family has difficulty at some point. Our pastor and other members make every effort to be present during these times.
To express our care, our people call and visit in homes and hospitals during illness, grief, or crises decisions and provide a network of loving support.
Counseling is available to those with needs. It is always given with the reminder that God is the ultimate healer and helper.
